IT Field Support Engineer

North Coast Information Technology is a leading provider of IT Solutions operating in Northern NSW.

  • Due to the restructuring of our Service Centre in Coffs Harbour, an exciting opportunity exists for a customer driven, responsible and motivated individual to jo in our Team as an IT Field Support Engineer.
  • The client base extends throughout Northern NSW and includes a number of high profile clients.
  • This position will primarily involve supporting clients in the Coffs Harbour / Grafton area as well as field support work for clients in the surrounding regions as required. 
  • This position will expose the successful applicant to a wide range of products and technologies utilised by our large base of high profile clients

Duties and Responsibilitie

  • Provide field support to Information Technology Systems 
  • Provide implementation, roll out and subsequent maintenance of network peripherals and other customer equipment
  • Onsite installation and configuration of computer hardware, software and peripherals 
  • Perform workshop repairs to hardware including workstations, printers, notebooks and associated peripherals, both in and out of warranty as required 
  • Updates and reporting to Head Office call logging systems as required 
  • Train and skill on new technologies as required to meet the needs of our customers at any given time.

Preferred Skills

  • Between 3-4 years field support experience in the field of Information Technology
  • Any previous experience with printers, plotters and other imaging devices an advantage 
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • A proven ability to perform given technical tasks
  • The ability to diagnose effectively and efficiently 
  • The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently both verbally and in written format  
  • MCP / MCSE certification would be highly regarded
 
Essential
  • Demonstrated experience in Field Support if IT Systems
  • Experience in repairing IT peripherals including PCs, Printers and other PC equipment
  • A clear knowledge of the WINDOWS environment
  • Good understanding of common Networking standards
  • Hold a current drivers license
  • Reliable own transport 
  • Be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia
  • Ambition to progress to Senior Support Engineer role
